Terms of Use

A Decent Remote · Effective June 12, 2026

By downloading or using A Decent Remote ("the app") you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

License

You get a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer or resell the app.

Free trial

The app includes a free trial period that starts on first launch. When it ends, continued use requires a subscription or the lifetime purchase.

Subscriptions and purchases

Premium access is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage and cancel them in your Apple ID settings. The lifetime purchase is a single payment and does not renew. Prices are shown in the app before you buy. Refunds are handled by Apple under their standard policies.

Compatibility

The app controls TVs over your local network. Whether a given TV can be controlled, and which features work, depends on the TV's brand, model, firmware and network setup, all of which are outside our control. We don't guarantee compatibility with any particular TV.

Trademarks

A Decent Remote is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LG, Samsung, Sony, Roku, Amazon, Google, or any TV or streaming-service brand. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Acceptable use

Only use the app with TVs and networks you own or are authorised to use.

Disclaimer and liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The app sends standard control commands to your TV using the TV manufacturers' own network protocols; we are not responsible for any malfunction, misconfiguration, data loss or damage to a TV or other device, or for changes TV manufacturers make to their firmware or protocols that stop features working. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, or limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the developer harmless from claims, damages and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the app or your violation of these terms.

Third-party services

The app interacts with TVs, streaming apps and services operated by third parties. We are not responsible for their availability, content or conduct, and these terms do not grant you any rights with respect to them.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full force, and the unenforceable provision is replaced by an enforceable one that comes closest to its intent. A failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.

Changes

We may update these terms; the current version will always be posted at this address. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
