About

A remote that does its job. Decently.

A Decent Remote is built by one developer in Denmark (Klaus Jakobsen), who got tired of two things: the drawer full of remotes every household accumulates, and the App Store's pile of "universal remote" apps that pretend to support everything and quietly fail on half of it.

Works with Fire TV, Roku, Samsung, LG, TCL, Sony and Android TV brands The remote screen: app shortcuts, power, volume, d-pad, touchpad and keyboard One tap opens any app installed on the TV

What makes it different

Every brand speaks its own network protocol, and this app implements each one properly: Samsung's token handshake, LG's dual-interface wake, Sony's expiring sessions (renewed silently so you never re-pair), Vizio's two pairing ports, Apple TV's two protocol generations. When something can't work, like 2019+ Panasonic sets that encrypted their protocol, the app says so at pairing time instead of failing silently. The same protocol-level knowledge is written up for free in the guides.

Privacy, shortly

No accounts, no sign-up, no selling data. Pairing details live in your iPhone's Keychain and control traffic stays on your own Wi-Fi. The long version is in the privacy policy.
